


This training course is intended for individuals with sound knowledge of plan review and inspection operations who have experience in the administration of building departments. Accreditation criteria are explained with practical examples on how different building departments can satisfy accreditation requirements in each of the following areas:
This course will help participants understand what is required to achieve building department accreditation. The course will interpret key components of the accreditation criteria (AC251) which are geared toward ensuring high-quality customer-focused service. Participants will explore how these requirements apply in the real world and will be given an overview of the basic concepts of quality management.
The learning environment will feature a traditional classroom set-up with a mix of PowerPoint slides, group discussions, shared activities and break-out sessions.

The International Accreditation Service is an ICC Preferred Provider. Students will earn 0.8 CEUs for this course.
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This two-day course will present the requirements of the Accreditation Criteria for Building Departments, Code Enforcement Departments and Third Parties Providing Building and/or Property Maintenance Code Enforcement Servies (AC251) for Florida building departments and third-party providers, with attention to the required AC351 Quality Management System components related to specified Florida statutes. In addition, the course will present the onsite assessment process required to be successfully completed to achieve IAS Building Department Accreditation.

This course and the issuance of 15 continuing education hours for its successful completion has been scheduled for review and approval by the Building Code Administrators and Inspectors Board (BCAIB) at its April 23-24 meeting. Accordingly, pending final action by the BCAIB, confirmation of the approval of this course and continuing education hours by the BCAIB cannot be provided at this time.
