NVLAP Celebrates 50 Years

Dear Rob,
We note the celebration of NVLAP’s 50th anniversary in your news release. This is indeed a historic milestone. On behalf of my management colleagues, IAS Board and other colleagues, I wish your organization as Happy 50th birthday and continued success in the conformity assessment area. As you are aware IAS also celebrated our 50th anniversary during September 2025.

In my association with you and others from NVLAP as well as my predecessor’s connections with NVLAP, while we may have competed in the field, we did that with the greatest of respect and regard for the work that NVLAP’s leaders from the past and now have done to improve the quality of accreditation and build the much-needed trust in United States and abroad. I can recall many of the stalwarts from the prior leadership who served with distinction in many of the technical committees as well as in other international arenas, ensuring that the requirements are not only technically robust, but also fair and reasonable. Indeed, you have inherited a proud tradition and filling those shoes effectively as the challenges and opportunities in our chosen field expands and demands.

Once again, our very congratulations and best wishes on this successful milestone, and please do pass on our wishes to others as well in your assessor community.

I hope to see you in Panama City, Panama, at the next Global ACI meeting.
