DOD/DOE CAP Assessor Training
Background
International Accreditation Service (IAS) has been recognized to provide accreditation to the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (ELAP) and the Department of Energy Consolidated Audit Program Accreditation Program (DOE CAP-AP).
Being a signatory to the ILAC MRA for Testing and the establishment of internal policies and procedures compliant with the latest DoD / DoE QSM Version 5.4 manual makes IAS eligible to provide accreditation to DoD/DoE participating laboratories.
As one of the oldest accreditation bodies in the U.S., IAS provides quick, reliable, and competitive assessment and accreditation services with qualified and competent assessors based in the US and overseas. IAS accreditation is aimed at helping regulators protect health, safety, and welfare of consumers through delivery of formal recognition of competence for those conformity assessment businesses who serve in these technical disciplines. IAS delivers value-added assessments. Once accredited, participant environmental testing laboratories will be able to have their test reports accepted by both organizations for those tests performed in support of environmental restoration, environmental activities, and related installations.
Laboratories wishing to provide services to the DoD/DoE-CAP must be conform to:
- ISO/IEC 17025:2005, General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories
- ISO/IEC 17025:2017, General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories
- TNI Standards, which are currently based on ISO/IEC 17025:2005
- DoD/DoE QSM 5.4, which is currently based on ISO/IEC 17025:2005
