IAS offers accreditation for Biobanks based on ISO 20387, General requirements for biobanking.

Biobanking is applicable to a wide range of (biological) material specifically from organisms, such as human, animal, fungus and plant. These materials are quality controlled through a process of activities (collection or acquisition, preparing, testing, storage, analyzing, and preservation). The final product and associated data is deemed fit for distribution.
