When you specify a metal building, it’s important to know that you are choosing both metal building system fabricators and metal building contractors that are competent and that you can trust to do the work. IAS has made this possible with the AC472 Metal Building Systems Inspection Accreditation Program and the AC478 Metal Building Assembler Inspection Accreditation Program.
The International Accreditation Service® (IAS), a subsidiary of the International Code Council (ICC), is an independent, nonprofit accreditation body, which accredits both metal building manufacturers and metal building contractors.
An IAS team of assessors conducts onsite assessments of companies seeking accreditation. The assessments are based on IAS accreditation criteria and related industry standards. IAS only accredits the companies that demonstrate compliance with strict accreditation requirements. Annual assessments are required by IAS to maintain accreditation. These lists of IAS accredited companies are available for free access on the IAS website.
