June 9 is the World Accreditation Day (WAD), a global initiative jointly established by the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC), to raise awareness of the importance of accreditation. This year's theme is Accreditation: Delivering confidence in construction and the built environment.
IAS will be participating in the 4th APLAC/PAC Joint Annual Meetings incorporating the 23rd APLAC General Assembly will be held at the Intercontinental Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand from 16 to 24 June 2017. IAS is on-hand at the International Association of Electrical Inspectors Southwestern Section 94th Annual Conference and Business Meeting August 27-31, 2017, in San Diego, CA. IAS is sharing information about the IAS Field Evaluation Body Accreditation program in our display booth at the expo.
Mohan Sabaratnam, IAS Director of Quality and Accreditation, is attending the Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission Workshop, August 31, in Baltimore, Maryland. The meeting is covering topics including the state requirements for cannabis testing, metric overview for independent testing labs, MMCC ITL policy review, proficiency testing, internal audit review, and failed test guidance. IAS provides accreditation for testing laboratories that conduct tests on cannabis and cannabis-derived products.
IAS is holding the MSCB Customer Conclave in New Delhi, India, 15 September. IAS accredits certification bodies to ISO/IEC Standard 17021 which specifies requirements for bodies providing audit and certification of management systems. This accreditation demonstrates to the marketplace, stakeholders and regulators that the bodies have met the IAS accreditation requirements and are periodically monitored for compliance.
