James W. Sayers
Jim Sayers is currently a Commercial Plans Examiner for Clackamas County, Oregon. Sayers has over 30 years of construction experience, 22 of those in the public sector. Prior to employment with Clackamas County, Sayers was the Building Official for Tualatin and Baker City, Oregon. Before that he served as a Plans Examiner and Inspector for Tualatin and Baker City as well as the cities of Redmond and Bothell in western Washington.
In addition to serving on the IAS Board of Directors, Sayers is a member of the ICC Commercial Exam Development Committee, NFPA’s Building Department Advisory Council, Chair of the Oregon Building Officials Association – Education Committee, and is the current President of the ICC Region II – Board of Directors, having previously served as Secretary, Treasurer and Vice President. Sayers carries six ICC certifications along with eleven certifications issued by the State of Oregon. He shares his knowledge and passion for the codes as Adjunct Professor of Commercial Codes at Portland Community College. Sayers studied Architectural Design in college, graduating from AAI in Glendale, Arizona.
