The TAC-Laboratories advises IAS on international standards relating to the accreditation of calibration and testing laboratories, conformity assessment, and technical subjects as requested by IAS management or by laboratories accredited by IAS. The agenda for the meeting in Reno contained subjects such as proficiency testing for both calibration and testing laboratories, witness testing at manufacturer's test facilities, the use of non-accredited laboratories by product certification agencies, and IAS Accreditation Criteria. IAS receives a valuable service from the TAC members who donate their time to participate in the meetings and provide input into IAS accreditation programs. Their contributions and technical guidance are sincerely appreciated by IAS. IAS also maintains separate TACs for the accreditation of building departments, inspection bodies and work force qualification programs.
