IAS Board of Directors Meeting Highlights

The IAS Board of Directors met October 4, 2007, in Reno, Nevada, to discuss a range of topics, including the rules, fees and applications for new IAS accreditation programs.

Key resolutions from this meeting included the approval of the Rules of Procedure, fee schedules and revisions for the new Curriculum Development and Training Agency accreditation program. Revisions to the Rules of Procedure for Accreditation Committee meetings and the Building Department/Code Enforcement Agency programs were also approved. The Board also approved applications for the Designated Accreditation Representative/Designated Accreditation Deputy for the Steel Fabrication Inspection Program. The IAS Board further complimented IAS’s continued involvement in industry organization meetings, conferences and technical sessions. These IAS-supported events include the National Conference of Standards Laboratories International and the Measurement Science Conference.

International Code Council Board member and Secretary/Treasurer, Ron Lynn, Building Official and Director of Development Services for Clark County, Nevada, has been appointed Liaison to the IAS Board of Directors, assuming the position previously held by current Code Council Board member Jimmy Brothers. The IAS management and IAS Board of Directors express their sincere appreciation for Brothers’ efforts in promoting IAS and its mission during his tenure on the Board.

The next IAS Board of Directors meeting will be held May 5–11, 2008, during Building Safety Week in Washington, D.C.
