Training Class Held in Chicago
The International Accreditation Service (IAS) held a training session on ISO/IEC Standard 17020 for Inspection Agencies on May 22-23 in Northbrook, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago.
The course was aimed at bodies performing inspections, inspection agencies that offer listing programs to their clients and other product certification organizations. The course offered insights in topics such as inspection equipment management, management of inspection personnel and processes, sample management, internal audits and management review, and contract and complaint handling. The requirements in the international guidance documents on the application of this standard were also highlighted. Taught by IAS President Chuck Ramani, this well-attended class attracted quality managers, assessors, inspection personnel, product certification professionals and field inspection professionals.
IAS would like to thank Underwriters Laboratories’ UL University, which provided the training venue for the IAS course. The UL University conducts public workshops as well as private and custom workshops by providing tailored training programs. UL University offers workshops on 50 different subjects in various cities throughout the United States.
