Code professionals from ICC Chapters can learn
more about the IAS Building Department Accreditation (BDA) Program
by scheduling a presentation for a monthly chapter meeting. This popular
presentation answers questions about the value of building department
accreditation, highlights the benefits of operational efficiency and
effectiveness, and is available to all ICC Chapters and building departments.

The Northern Nevada ICC Chapter and the Central Arizona Chapter invited IAS Project Coordinator Kellee Lostaunau and IAS Marketing Manager Greg West to deliver a presentation on the International Accreditation Service (IAS) Building Department Accreditation (BDA) program. The Central Arizona Chapter included a video with interviews of code officials from building departments that are currently going through the IAS BDA program. These code officials offered thoughts about their experiences with the process, lessons learned and potential benefits of accreditation.
This presentation is available to all ICC Chapters, building organizations and code enforcement regulatory bodies throughout the United States. Depending on the amount of detail requested, the presentation can take from 30-45 minutes or up to two hours. Other ICC Chapters and organizations in California, Colorado, Louisiana, Oregon, South Carolina and Texas have scheduled this popular presentation during monthly chapter meetings or annual conference programs.
The IAS Building Department Accreditation Program is fully endorsed by the International Code Council (ICC). As a subsidiary of ICC, the IAS Board of Directors is made up of building officials. Accreditation teams are made up of code enforcement officials who have successfully completed the IAS BDA Training Program. If you're interested in the purpose, process, costs and benefits of attaining IAS Building Department Accreditation, please contact Kellee Lostaunau at 562-699-0541, ext. 3448.
