Your product certification agency can now obtain accreditation from one of the most highly respected accreditation bodies in the United States. International Accreditation Service (IAS) now accredits product certification agencies under ISO/IEC Guide 65, General Requirements for Bodies Operating Product Certification Systems. This widely recognized international standard sets out the criteria for organizations that certify products and forms the basis for the IAS Accreditation Program for Product Certification Agencies.
IAS-accredited certification agencies demonstrate to the marketplace and to regulators that their certification practices, including testing, inspection, product surveillance and product labeling, have been properly evaluated and are under a program of continual monitoring by an internationally recognized accreditation body. Testing and inspection are the mainstays of product certification. IAS's 30+ years of experience in accrediting competent laboratories and inspection agencies guarantees you an experienced team of professionals to help guide you through the accreditation process. IAS-accreditation provides assurance that regulators will recognize your organization as one that operates using the best practices including:
- Operating under a well-documented and implemented quality management system
- Operating with a high level of technical and ethical standards
- Ensuring competent testing, inspection and surveillance to support all certified products
- Maintaining full compliance with ISO/IEC Guide 65 and, when applicable, sector- specific requirements to meet market and regulator needs
For product certification agencies, IAS offers objective and independent accreditation that is trusted by regulators and the marketplace. Product manufacturers are facing increased demand for impartial verification that their products are certified to be safe and to meet industry standards. If the products are to be readily accepted, the verification must be by certification agencies that are trusted and widely recognized. IAS accreditation provides the credentials that ensure your certification marks will have full acceptance in the marketplace and by governmental agencies that regulate product acceptance.
