IAS hosts Chinese National Institute of Emergency Management
![]() |
On May 25, 2011, IAS hosted a 14-member Chinese delegation representing their National Institute of Emergency Management. The visit was funded by the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA – www.ustda.gov) – an independent agency of the federal government. The visit was organized to give the delegates an opportunity to look at U.S. best practices, procedures and technology in order to assist them with improving the current standards of Emergency Management and Response in China and, hopefully, ultimately to create exports of U.S. goods and services and thus U.S. jobs. In the attached picture IAS president Chuck Ramani can be seen with Mr. Qiao Renyi on his immediate left and ICC VP for Global operations, Mr. Richard Okawa to his immediate right. Mr. Renyi is director general of the Chinese Academy of Governance, National Institute of Emergency Management, Beijing, China. Thirteen other professionals representing China’s federal and local government entities involved in emergency management activities accompanied Mr. Renyi. |
